I write conceptual books — stories that loop through spacetime, books that can be read in opposite directions, narratives where a writer speaks with his own character, and puzzles where the structure of the book becomes part of the experience.

My stories aren’t meant to be read in a straight line — and neither is my life. Curiosity rarely takes the shortest route.
